Over 10 months since the latest-generation Honda NSX was revealed in Detroit, the company has just released the vehicle’s finalised specifications and performance figures.
Alongside the internal combustion engine, the new Honda NSX utilises three electric motors with two driving the front wheels and a third installed at the rear which acts as a generator to the car’s lithium-ion battery pack. All told, the Honda NSX pumps out 573 hp and thanks to the all-wheel drive and quick-shifting nine-speed transmission, it will accelerate to 96 km/h in a brisk 3.0 seconds.
Another key component of the NSX are its advanced high-strength a-pillars. They have been created through a three-dimensional forming and tempering process which allows them to be exceptionally strong while also very thin to improve visibility. Honda claims that the car’s a-pillars are the first in the industry to use this three-dimensionally former steel construction. By: GtSpirit
