Black Maserati MC12 Sells for $1.57 Million

The only Maserati MC12 painted gloss black from the factory has been sold by Mecum Auctions for $1.575 million.

Of the 50 Maserati MC12 models produced in road-going spec, 49 of them are painted in pearl white with bright blue accents with the remaining example being this black unit. At the time of the auction, it had also travelled a mere 1300 km making it essentially brand new despite actually being over a decade old.

Alongside the black paint scheme, this Maserati MC12 features dark blue leather throughout the interior particularly across the seats and dashboard. As with all other MC12s, it also features a set of silver 7-spoke wheels with red centre locks on one side and blue centre locks on the other side.

The MC12 is of course based around the Ferrari Enzo but is significantly rarer. Each of the road-going models is powered by a 6.5-litre V12 engine sourced from the Enzo, with a total output of 620 hp and 652 Nm of torque. It can do nought to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and a maximum of 330 km/h, certainly no slouch by any standard. By: GtSpirit
