Called the (deep breath) Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Car Edition, the special roadster is distinguished by a fresh take on the same black and orange color scheme that distinguished the previous special-edition Veyron Super Sport that marked that car’s speed record a few years ago.

It’s the same exact car – no controversial speed limiter here – with which Anthony Liu reached the groundbreaking 254.04 mph top speed at the 12-mile Ehra-Lessien track in Germany, one of the few places where you can get a car up to that kind of speed.

The car’s got the same 1,200-metric-horsepower 8.0-liter quad-turbo W12 as the “standard” Vitesse, so you could in theory reach the same speed even without the fancy Halloween livery. The special edition will debut in the flesh at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 20. Bugatti will offer only 8 examples, each demanding 1.99 million euros – plus tax. By: Carbuzz
