Remember when Dodge announced its slightly confusing but ultimately quite cool 1 of 1 custom-order program for the 2015 Viper SRT?
For starters, you’re free to create whatever color you damn well please, and for the most part, you can then pair that insanity with whatever stripes, wheels, and interior you want. The results can be good. Or you can make some truly, um, “one of a kind” Vipers like we did.
To test the limits of sanity and taste, we decided to set our staffers loose on Dodge’s configurator, and, well, these are the results. Some of our designs are cool—but most are just eye-watering and sad. You can check out the digital configurator here, but be sure to see what not to do in our gallery below.
Will this level of custom freedom and a lower, $89,090 base price be enough to kick-start Viper sales? Time will tell, but just to be safe, the automaker should avoid us entirely when it comes to color and trim choices. By: blog.caranddriver
