Because you know Ferrari is all about that race, about that race. It’s thanks to Scuderia Ferrari that the Italian lifestyle branch will always insert track features into its new collections, which is the case this time too. Part of the Fall/Winter 2015 collection, the Gran Premio Worldtime is a limited to 300 units timepiece that displays the company’s main trademarks.

Priced at $1585, the Ferrari FXX inspired the new Gran Premio Worldtime Automatico Limited Edition. As opposed to other models, the one in question was developed by Ferrari Styling Center and is powered by a fine Dubois-Depraz Swiss self-winding mechanical movement with GMT function. It consists of 256 elements and was customized specifically for Scuderia Ferrari Orologi.

With the FXX being one of the first models where Ferrari has used carbon fiber significantly, the timepiece was rendered from the same material. The black dial with team-red accents features an applied stylized element that should resemble the actual car’s bolts found on its chassis.

What stands out up front is the unique city time zone display, highlighting Ferrari’s hometown – Maranello, and ten famous Grand Prix race locations Melbourne, Sepang, Barcelona, Silverstone, Singapore, Suzuka, Sochi, Mexico City, Sao Paulo and Abu Dhabi. As mentioned above, the Italians have a special culture for all things race-related and exclusive timepieces make no exception whatsoever.

Another detail that continues on the same path is its 47mm brushed black ion-plated stainless steel case. Topped by a sapphire crystal, it sports a matching bezel with Scuderia Ferrari racing logo. In the back, the see-through case reveals the custom black rotor reminiscent of an automotive brake caliper.

Even the black silicone strap with debossed Scudetto logo and heavy grain texture hints at the F1 tire. The 42-hour power reserve should be enough for any racing enthusiast leaving for a long road trip while each timepiece comes in a custom-designed box complete with a collector’s plaque, so there should be no worry concerning exclusivity.
