The Lamborghini Huracan GT3 is set to make its North American racing debut at next year’s Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 30 and 31.
A selection of teams in the U.S will race the Huracan GT3 in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GT Daytona (GTD) class. The first of those teams will be Change Racing and O’Gara Motorsports, both of which currently compete in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North American racing series. Meanwhile, European team Konrad Motorsport will race the new Huracan GT3 at Daytona.
The Italian racing car’s North American debut will come after it started GT3 racing at Monza in April this year where it actually claimed victory.
The rear-wheel drive Huracán GT3 has an aluminium-carbon chassis and kerb weight of 1,239 Kg with 42/58 front/rear weight distribution. The composite bodywork and aerodynamics have been developed with Dallara Engineering. It has the V10 direct injection engine of the road car, managed by a Bosch Motorsport control unit, with sequential six-speed gearbox and a three-disc racing clutch. By GtSpirit
