A recent Auto Express interview with Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann has shed some light on the Italian brand’s plans to celebrate its founders 100th birthday. Ferruccio Lamborghini was born on 28 April 2016 and founded the brand in 1963. To celebrate it has been confirmed that a limited edition Lamborghini Centenario will be unevieled at the Geneva Motor Show 2016.
Rumours suggest that it will receive an upgraded verison of the 6.5-litre V12 engine, pushing in excess of the Surveloce’s 740hp. Potential customers have already been shown rederings, although it isn’t clear whether the planned 20 unit production run has already sold out. Prices are expected to match demand, although the car will likely be made at a loss to the Italian manufacturer.
The limited edition model will make its debut across from fellow Volkswagen Group member Bugatti and its new Bugatti Chiron. There will be plenty to look forward to at next year’s Geneva Motor Show 2016 and we will be there to cover it all! By: GtSpirit
