Mazda Miata Puts On SLR Stirling Moss Costume for Halloween

We hope you’ve had time to plan your Halloween strategy, namely picking out a costume. C’mon, even cars use Halloween attires these days. Let’s take the Miata in the image above, for instance. This has chosen to dress as a Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss for the baddie night, and we have to admit it looks damn frighteningly good.

Now that the MX-5 Miata has grown up with the introduction of the ND generation, the still-a-kei-car must’ve seen itself as the gentleman’s artillery the SLR Stirling Moss is.

We’ve recently spent a few days with the Miata and were pleased by something else aside the usual cheerful driving fun. For the first time, the Miata allowed us to go on more than medium trips, no longer feeling tired after a couple of seat time hours.

Then again, tricking everybody into believing the Miata has gone fancy and heavy weaponry would only solve the only Miataish problem the ND still has – such a change would help the car escape its overly understated nature. Don’t get us wrong, we like our understated cars, but that rule applies to another kind of contraptions, such as Porsche, for instance.

But the Mazda Miata is so awesome that people do need to take it seriously, despite its top asset being that it does not like to act all mature. This is like driving a car for kids, but somehow in the street-legal world. One that, in a somewhat similar fashion to the SLR, has a front-mid-mounted engine.

And despite the fact that the SLR Stirling Moss take seen here is just a piece of pixel play (via Shockwave98- on Reddit), we love the way in which it enriches the Miata in an odd manner. We’ll call this No. Seventy Six. With Mercedes having only produced 75 units of the Stirling Moss, the Mazda dream’s nickname seemed fitting. By: autoevolution
