McLaren 650S Fully Dressed as a P1: Virtual Tuning

When McLaren introduced the 650S, the company wanted to offer us a heavily upgraded 12C. Upon working their tech magic on the supercar, they gifted the car with a nose inspired from their P1 hypercar to make it turn heads. We now have a set of renderings that shows how the McLaren 650S would look when completely dressed out as a P1.

McLaren Life forums user Drifter took the 650S Spider into the virtual tuning world, with the result being a pretty convincing one. It all starts up front, where the 650S receives a pair of extra air intakes on the sides of the apron – the renderer actually said these are air vents.

As for the side view, the side skirts see their lines become even bolder, while the wheel design now resembles that on McLaren’s hybrid hypercar. Oh and let’s not forget that air scoop on the hood.

We’ve saved the heftiest set of changes for last, as the majority of the image manipulation work has been done on the 650S’ rear end. The main pieces of novelty are the massive diffuser, the extra air outlets in the bumper, as well as the heftier rear wing.

Some other forum chit-char saw the users discussing the possibility of such a 650S being built by McLaren Special Operations. While the company’s custom projects arm does handle such transformations, this particular one seems less likely to happen. We don’t even know which issue would be the biggest, the copycat image or the demonic aerodynamic work that would lead to mind-blowing costs. Nevertheless, this remains a pretty sweet dream.
