McLaren P1 Reaches End of Production

It is official now: McLaren P1 is history! According to a press release released by McLaren Automotive, the production of the 375th P1 has now been completed and with that the curtain falls on the company’s finest production to date as it gets consigned to the history books.

That is until they find it in themselves to come up with a P1 R or something, or start working on the replacement. McLaren P1 certainly was a commercial success for the company, not to mention the P1 GTR program which is still going on, bringing in lots of dosh. So unless something terrible happened to the world’s economy again, we’re definitely going to see another hyper cars from the good old chaps at McLaren.

Still, one cannot help but get misty-eyed at the thought of such an amazing piece of engineering going out of production. The final McLaren P1 is a pearlescent orange example with no exposed carbon except for the aero parts, and it was united with the first P1, an ice silver example, before delivery. It features MSO interior touches such as black and orange Alcantara upholstery, and black detailing for the switchgear, instrument bezels and air conditioning vents.
