After seven movies in the franchise, ‘Fast and Furious’ had showcased a lot of cars. However, fans will definitely remember the late Paul Walker’s first car — the 1993 Toyota Supra.
Mecum Auctions announced that the famous bright orange 1993 Toyota Supra from the original movie will be auctioned off in Indianapolis on May 12 to 17, as reported by CNN.
Entertainment weekly reported that the car can be yours if you are willing to cut around $150,000 to $200,000 (approximately 6.6 to 8.8 million pesos) from your wallet.
The car was first seen in the 2001 original film and then shown again on the final race scene between Walker’s character Brian O’Connor against Vin Diesel’s character, Dominic Toretto on the seventh franchise of the movie.
As they race a train, Dom drives his father’s car while Brian drives the 1993 Toyota Supra; making it one of the most memorable moment in the entire movie franchise.
“The car is equipped with a 2JZ-GE 3.0L/220 HP inline-6 engine and 5-speed manual transmission, with power augmented by twin Holley Performance nitrous oxide bottles mounted in the rear compartment,” according to the press release given by Mecum.
The car was built by movie prop veteran Eddie Paul, who is from The Shark Shop in El Segundo, California.
Other features and highlights of the car, as revealed by Mecum includes: APR wing, roll cage, Bomex body kit, stunt suspension, Sparco steering wheel, fuel cell, auto meter speedometer, tachometer, oil, water and voltage gauges.
The car uses Yokohama tires and have dazz wheels, roadboy foglights and modern image graphics.
It has a redline car key list with serial numbers of cars used in the movie, and said to be 1st Place Class Winner in Detroit AutoRama of March 2015. By: kickerdaily
