Even if it’s not the version we were expecting to see, the facelifted Peugeot 3008 is a presence to be noted at this year’s Beijing Auto Show. Gaining a few cosmetic revisions on both ends over the current model, joined by a some minor updates inside, the 3008 continues its successful path in the Chinese market, where Peugeot managed to deliver more than 200,000 units over the last three years.
On top of the cosmetic revisions, the 3008 gets more driving aids, including the firm’s collision alert and the Visio-Park II, offering a 360-degree view around the vehicle. Dongfeng Peugeot didn’t have much to say on the facelifted model, but this isn’t the one we are expecting in Europe, where the French are already working on a new generation, expected to shed some of its MPV roots in favor of a proper crossover body.
Some of the smooth lines of the 308 hatch will be adopted by the upcoming 3008, which will also share most of its petrol and diesel lineup, with a front-wheel drive layout at first, expected to be joined, later on, by an all-wheel drive plug-in hybrid. Moreover, the vehicle will gain the advanced i-Cockpit, teased by Peugeot last week, with its miminalistic design, interactive technology and latest infotainment system. Peugeot could lift the veils off the new-gen 3008 at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, although an official date has yet to be made public. By: Carscoops
