Two weeks ago, reports about Subaru planning a mid-engine hybrid sports car surfaced, but it seems that’s not the case.
Okay, maybe a mid-engined hybdid sports car will, sadly, not make it but we can take solace in the fact that there’s something else in store in the near future. The Australian magazine says that the company confirmed the new WRX and STI for 2017 or 2019, while the CEO of Subaru parent company Fuji Heavy Industries, Yasuyuki Yoshinaga, asserted Subaru’s interest in a second-generation BRZ.
“We are discussing with Toyota to produce a new model change for the BRZ. We have not decided any details yet, but we will make an agreement. We want to continue the BRZ.”
