That ’65 Mustang With A Chevy V8 Is An Absolute Beast Of A Thing

And sacrilegious for some.

It was shown only last week at SEMA but now it’s made an appearance on the latest episode of Jay Leno’s Garage. That 1965 Ford Mustang restomod, aka “Espionage” comes courtesy of the Ring Brothers. It could very well be considered sacrilegious for some.

That’s because it’s powered by the same engine found in the Chevy Camaro Z/28. Yeah, that’d be that 7.0-liter LS7 V8, only now it’s been given a Whipple supercharger system. Total output? 959 hp and 858 lb-ft of torque. Oh yeah, and its body is made entirely of lightweight carbon fiber.

Will muscle car purists find a problem with this? Probably, but Leno makes a point of emphasizing that if something works and it works very well, as it does here, is there really any harm? Oh, and Espionage is particularly awesome at doing burnouts. By: Carbuzz
