This will be epic.
As of now Bugatti has managed to keep a secret the upcoming Chiron’s best details, mainly its performance specs. No doubt they’ll be absolutely ridiculous and we’re fully expecting the Chiron to set the new hypercar benchmark.
Bugatti wants that to happen, and that means the Chiron needs to be wicked fast. How fast, exactly? According to ProDrive CZ, a Czech source, the Chiron will have a top speed of 290 mph.
Power, as we already knew, will come courtesy of an updated 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine with electrical boost assistance. Total output should be around 1,500 hp and 1,107 lb-ft of torque, give or take. What we’re also hearing more about is the projected Chiron life expectancy.
The Veyron lasted for a decade but Bugatti is planning for the Chiron’s existence to be no more than five years. 500 examples, 100 units per year. However, those numbers don’t factor in the rumored Chiron targa, due in 2018. We’ll know more in the coming weeks ahead of the Chiron’s reveal. By: carbuzz
