But there’s a catch if you want to buy one.
The Lamborghini GT3-spec Huracan Racer, which made its world debut at the beginning of 2015, is now set to make its official North American debut in 2016. However, as the name implies, this baby isn’t exactly street legal and will only be available to private buyers who plan to use the car for racing. The Huracan Racer is the very first GT3 race car to be fully developed and assembled by Lamborghini. The car is powered by a 5.2-liter GT3-spec V10 that pumps out a solid 585 horsepower.
The Huracan GT3 will make its first North American appearance at the 24 Hours of Daytona race in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GT Daytona (GTD) class.
According to Head of Lamborghini Motorsport, Giorgio Sanna, all customer funded racing teams will have the full backing of the Lamborghini factory. Sanna was quoted as saying, “We are only focused and committed to customer racing. For us, GT3 is the pinnacle of our strategy.
We are excited to make this next step in North America as our motorsport program competes for the first time in Lamborghini history in the 24 Hours at Daytona and in multiple full-season GTD efforts.”
