A new Special Edition trim of the 2016 Honda CR-V is being offered for sale as we speak across the United States.

The 2016 Honda CR-V Special Edition trim is now available for order in the United States. The model in question can be had from 23,595 USD, in the front-wheel drive LX, while for the all-wheel drive Touring, sales start at 33,245 USD. Honda says that the CR-V Special Edition (SE) trim is offering several upgrades over the LX and these include the rear privacy glass, the security system, the two-tone look, and the larger 17-inch alloy wheels, for an extra 800 USD compared to the LX.

“The new Special Edition (SE) trim is positioned between the LX and the EX and is available in front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) versions. Together with the top-of-the-line Touring version introduced last year that includes the Honda Sensing™ suite of safety and driver assistive technologies, CR-V is now available in 12 trim/wheel drive versions”, says the automaker in the press release.

The starting price of the new Honda CR-V SE has been set at 24,395 USD, for the front-wheel drive variant, while the all-wheel drive model starts from 25,695 USD. Power to the vehicle is being provided by a 2.4 liter inline four-cylinder Earth Dreams engine, rated at 185 HP (137 kW) and 245 Nm (181 lb-ft) of torque.

This is connected to the wheels through a CVT. The FWD option is returning an EPA estimated 26 / 33 / 29 in city / highway / combined and the AWD is bringing 25 / 31 / 27 mpg.
